Shortly after graduating
from Colorado College with a BA in Fine Art, Ben Shearn mastered the
earliest releases of computer graphics softwares like Photoshop, Illustrator
& Quark Xpress --the three pillars of computer art at the time.
When 3D software hit the desktop, he immediately became proficient in
the modeling and rendering images to combine with his photography and
design concepts. His ability to combine elements from multiple sources
seamlessly and with an organic quality has set him apart.
In the 1990s, Ben
Shearn Studios was in San Diego --a city known for professional photographers.
He did professional retouching for the most discriminating photographers
in the country. His design skills and retouching expertise led him to
create leading edge conceptual images of his own. Ben was consequently
invited by two of the world's top stock photography agencies to submit
his highly creative conceptual images. He currently has successful portfolios
represented by Getty Images, Alamy & Jupiter Images.
For nearly fifteen
years Ben Shearn's imagery has been seen world-wide, representing top
advertisers & art buyers for a variety of purposes and media uses.
His original style of conceptually combining optical and digital techniques
allows him to twist and play with images to create magical conceptual
moments. His eye for composition, mood, finish and lighting is clearly
visible in the candid portraiture and studio headshots.
Ben Shearn Studios
moved to Los Angeles from 2000 until 2006, where Ben worked in a variety
of creative areas in the film industry. Working in set-photography,
creative film editing, marketing & distribution. Ben explored new
technologies such as DVD authoring, non-linear film editing and interactive
media concepts.
